The 5 Minute Liver Consult

The 5 Minute Liver Consult has been written to provide a useful practical and educational supplement. It may also be of use in helping patients with highly scientific information in a readable format.

The first section attempts to clarify physiological standing of individual liver function tests that we all use. This is then extended to illustrate some common abnormalities and finally algorithms are provided for management of abnormal LFT’s.
